Our last full day in Iceland takes us to the Caves of Hella. There are twelve man made caves of which four are open to the public. These caves date back to the time of the Vikings. We were given a private tour of the caves and learned of the history of the settlement of Iceland. At the end of the tour, we got to sample Icelandic beer, gin, and whiskeys as well as having smoked and cured goose from a local farm.
There were some horses on the property, so I decided to pet a horse for the first time. The horse was friendly and not camera shy.
