As you may know, we traveled to Cayo Espanto in Belize for the first time in 2018. It was a spectacular vacation. We have not stopped thinking about it since then and have finally returned. Little did we know this would be our last vacation out of the country due to COVID-19.

As before, we chartered the helicopter to get us to the island as quickly as possible. This time I had prepared my GoPro for the flight. I asked the pilot if I could suction the GoPro to the window and he said no problem. I also prepared myself to sit in the front seat again by discussing it with my wife prior to getting in. It started to rain as we took off, but cleared up quickly as we got closer to our destination.

Luckily, things were just as wonderful as we remembered. The food was amazing with several options to choose from for every meal.

The room and our little slice of the island was just as quiet and beautiful as we remembered.

We spent our time relaxing on the deck and beach. We also took a kayak out several times and paddled around the island. There was always a cold towel and a frozen drink waiting for us when we arrived back! Dinners were always setup in different locations on the island. We even had a special anniversary dinner with a serenade by a local artist.

Before we knew it, it was time to go home. The end of this vacation wasn’t as relaxing as others since we were watching COVID-19 spread across the world and travel restrictions were being put in place.
