This is a post related to our Pantanal Trip.

We had just finished up eating lunch and were at our room getting ready for the afternoon boat outing. My wife was outside and was startled by Marcos rounding the corner of the building with urgency. He told her to get me and head to the back of the property. He ran off to get his camera and would meet us there. I quickly got my camera ready and rushed over to see what was going on.  We arrived to find up to 24 Toco Toucans in the trees. They were flying from branch to branch and putting on quite a show.

The Toco Toucan is the largest of all the Toucan species.

And to top it off, several Hyacinth Macaws decided to join the show. They didn’t stay around long, but I managed a couple quick pictures to document their presence.

After the birds dispersed, we had to rush back to the room and top off the camera battery charge for the next boat outing.
