Just like the previous day, I woke up early to get ready for the bird tour. My wife was not coming on this one, so I made my way to the lobby to meet with Yahaira, who I requested to be my guide again. Once again, they were ready to go when I arrived in the lobby. I hopped into a van and started the tour. Today was a little rainy and not nearly as nice as the day before. We headed back up to the Arenal Observatory to take some different trails. We came across a Crested Caracara on the way. Since most of the tour was the same, instead of blabbing on, here are the photos.
After getting back from the tour, the weather improved at Nayara Springs. We decided to walk around and head to the Armadillo Sanctuary. We wouldn’t find any Armadillos, but we did find this Anteater.
After this, we headed to the Sloth Trail looking for anything we could find. My wife was a bit behind me as we walked and she shouted for me to come back. I am glad I did, she found two White-crowned Parrots!
After the excitement was over, aka the Parrots flew off, we headed back to the room to see what we could find. Here are some things saw on the walk back.
Once back at the room, the most blue colored bird arrived. It was a Red-legged Honeycreeper.
Shortly after the Honeycreeper flew away, a Band-tailed Barbthroat Hummingbird showed up.
After another day of hiking and sweating profusely from humidity, it was time for dinner. Back to Amor Loco tonight for a tasting menu.
With our trip’s end coming up quickly, we decided to not book any tours for Day 5, and just relax a bit and wander the property.
