I had the opportunity to stop over in Tallinn, Estonia while on some business travel. My flight connected with Helsinki and I had a very interesting meal served. I think it was Kholodets. It reminded me of tuna fish, but it was suspended in a gelatin. I was feeling adventurous so I gave it a try. Surprisingly it was not that bad. On the side were some cold potatoes.
I stayed for one night at the Hotell Palace. The room was simple but clean. I had some bottled water and fruit waiting for me upon arrival. The room door reminded me of a vault.
I had dinner at Peppersack which was awesome! First there was a show that took place through the medieval style dining area. It involved a sword fight over a woman from what I could tell. It was not in English so that was my take on it.
Then I ordered a sampling of various meats. I believe it was chicken, beef, and elk. It was delicious. I would absolutely go back if I ever visit Estonia again.
After my food coma wore off, I walked around the city a bit before heading back to the hotel. It is a really neat city with cobblestone streets.
The time went by really fast and it was time to head back to the airport, about 30 minutes from the hotel.
