We took an early morning flight to Grenada and were lucky enough to be on the ground shortly after lunch. We were amazed how quickly we were able to make it through customs and get our luggage. It might have been the fastest we have ever gotten through immigration. We stayed at Sandals Grenada which is literally on top of the hill next to the airport, so we were at the resort and checking in about 20 minutes after getting off the plane. A great start to a vacation!
We stayed in the South Seas Grande Rondoval Butler Suite with Private Pool Sanctuary. It was the perfect room for us, beautiful and modern. The bed and living room were in the front part of the circular room and there was a freestanding stone tub and separate shower in the back half of the room. There was a private pool area with a sitting area, small pool and hot tub directly outside the suite. The pool area was fenced in, allowing for us to enjoy breakfast, lunch and drinks and relax in private.
We spent most of our trip relaxing on the beach or at our private pool area. We were able to take the resort boat on several snorkeling trips. The boat would pull close to the shore and you had to wade through the water to get on board. This did make it a little difficult if the waves were big! I believe the staff said the boat normally uses a dock, but it was damaged in the storm.
We ate at the various restaurants around the resort including a steakhouse, an Italian restaurant, a French restaurant, and Caribbean cuisine. During the middays, we would order a margarita pizza. This is our 8th trip to a Sandals Resort and one thing that is consistent across all properties is the Pizza, and it is amazing. Of course, we spent a lot of our evenings in the pub sampling local beers and other local cocktails!
